- Fixed-Term (12 months) Part-Time (30 hours per week).
- Classification: Staff Specialist Level 4 Year 1-5 (Level election is optional).
- Provide Intensive Care Services to patients within the Intensive Care Unit and hospital wards.
- Provide quality Intensive Care services including clinical leadership and operational management.
- Complement the clinical, teaching, training and research activities of the Hunter New England Intensive Care Stream.
- Provide Rapid Response Team service to the patients, staff and visitors on the CMN campus building, and to Mater Mental Health.
- Participation in the Intensive Care Staff specialist roster including out-of-hour’s roster commitments in a one-in-five on-call rostering pattern.
- To actively support research within CMN Intensive Care services and as part of Australia and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS) Clinical Trials Group (CTG).
- Demonstrated capacity for clinical leadership and willingness to lead and participate in clinical research.
- Commitment to teaching and supervision of students, trainees and staff including medical, nursing and allied health.
- Demonstrated competence and experience in providing high quality, compassionate medical care within an Intensive Care Unit.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining personal knowledge and skills by participating in continuing education and professional standards programs.
- A Primary Medical degree registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM).
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead the multidisciplinary team whilst demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in periods of high activity.
- Understanding of the principles of clinical governance to promote quality and safety in health care, including experience in audit and incident investigation and commitment to evidence based best practice.
