What you'll be doing:
An exciting opportunity is now available for a Nurse manager Grade 4 to join the team in ICU at Nepean Hospital in a Permanent Full time role.
Your role as Nurse Manager is responsible for providing a high level of clinical leadership, governance, and resource management within the Intensive Care Unit at Nepean Hospital, to ensure the highest-level quality patient care is delivered. Responsibilities will also be in line with the “Core Accountabilities.

At all times you will promote a positive risk culture where understanding, identifying, managing and accepting appropriate risk is part of all decision-making processes. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Must be a Registered Nurse/ Midwife holding current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Current registration with the Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant post graduate qualifications in clinical leadership or management; or willingness to undertake same or equivalent work experience as deemed appropriate by the district.
- Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and extensive experience and knowledge in Critical Care and in clinical management role.
- Recent broad clinical and operational management experience at a senior level within a complex health care environment including strategic planning and the development and implementation of Business / Operational Plans
- Demonstrated experience in managing a complex service with competing demands for access, throughput, and resources including management of financial budgets.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate inspire and organise staff to achieve organisational, divisional and professional outcomes.
- Well-developed analytical skills to analyse and interpret data and apply insights practicably to contemporary service delivery models.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
