Key Leadership role within First Nations Team
Fixed Term Contract until June 2026

In this role, you will be responsible for developing & overseeing Hearing Australia’s First Nations stakeholder management strategy to ensure we have positive relationships with stakeholders and are known for providing high quality, culturally appropriate services to First Nation clients and communities.
You will be leading a team of Cultural Leaders who are responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive and effective relationships with Outreach Communities and First Nation stakeholders.
Key responsibility areas:
Responsible for the management of the First Nations Services Stakeholder and Communications Strategies.
Ownership and management of specified Stakeholder relationships as per the Stakeholder management strategy.
Actively coach, train and supervise staff to develop a high performing and engaged team.
Ensure that all aspects of First Nations Services operations are designed and delivered in a culturally appropriate manner
Promptly respond to complaints or negative feedback, and work with stakeholders to resolve issues.
Ensure all Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services has a current Shared Hearing Services plan in place, and that this is regularly reviewed as per Hearing Australia protocols.
Ongoing reporting
Ensure compliance relating to Service Level Agreements.
Actively participate in the planning of First Nations Service Delivery and identify opportunities to improve community engagement and client outcomes.
Manage resources and deliverables within a budget.
Maintain strong relationships and provide advice to First Nations Service Managers and the Reconciliation Program Manager.
Actively support the design and implementation of First Nations projects.
The Ideal person will:
Must be recognised and identify as an Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community as such
Must be able to represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community needs
Proven strong team management & leadership skills
A tertiary education in management or a health – related field highly preferred but not essential
Experience in leading a geographically dispersed team
Ability to represent the Organisation at State or National levels and present to large groups
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Stakeholder management frameworks
Knowledge of and belief in co-design principles and practice
