This position involves supporting the development team throughout the full lifecycle of utility-scale grid-connected BESS projects in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Support early-stage pipeline development, identifying new development prospects using internal tools.
- Conduct site screening and engage with landowners, assisting in negotiating land-related agreements.
- Support development workstreams with internal business units, providing site-specific inputs for technical optimization, layout designs, payments, lease document reviews, etc.
- Build relationships and troubleshoot project issues with external parties, including network operators.
- Evaluate opportunities for site-specific value enhancement, assessing solar projects for BESS co-location possibilities.
- Run financial models to assess returns on multiple projects, conducting sensitivity analysis on investments.
- Conduct market research on solar and storage market trends, policy updates, route to market options.
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in engineering or finance.
- Master's in finance/engineering preferred but not necessary.
- Three years of experience in renewables, infrastructure, investment, or the energy sector.
- Knowledge of the renewables industry and power markets.
- Flexible and ‘can-do’ attitude for a close-knit, fast-paced, and hardworking team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Works well in a deadline-driven environment.
- Analytical with numerical ability.
