Zenergy have partnered with Star Aviation to lead the search and recruitment of the Head of Health & Safety. Founded in Canberra in 2012, Star Aviation has grown to be one of Australia’s most dedicated ground handling service providers with over 750 employees across 11 airports. The business has experienced huge growth over the years. They provide passenger services, ramp services, cabin cleaning and cargo handling.
The Head of Health and Safety will develop and guide the strategic safety direction for the business, a leader who has vision, energy, discipline, and a deep commitment to bringing people together to achieve outstanding safety outcomes. This role will operationally lead the function with two direct reports, the role reports directly to the CEO. The purpose of this role is to embed change and progressive safety initiatives with a risk-based approach. You will have a background ideally in aviation, logistics or service industry. Build strong partnerships internally and externally.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety required or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in strategically leading health and safety at either a national or regional level across a diverse business.
- A practical approach with strong knowledge of legislative requirements.
- A demonstrated track record of creating strategies and design interventions / initiatives that assess risk and support organisations in the mitigation and management of safety hazards in the workplace.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing process improvement and system optimization, strategies to deliver organisational compliance and efficiency.
- Effective engagement with people at all levels.
