About The Role
This is a sweet opportunity for a hands on, savvy and experienced BDMs to work with the National Business Manager – Out of Home in the execution of national account plans for all corporate and co-operative distributor groups and branches, drive local distributor activities and promotions, as well as managing state/national based accounts. The role ensures that all promotional activities, NPD launches, and product presentations are well executed, ensuring that Distributor volume, NSV and GP targets are achieved within state defined trade spend percentage investment.
Key deliverables
- Direct management responsibility of all state-based Distributor and account relationships and build meaningful joint business plans with top distributors in the market
- Deliver state and branch volume, NSV and GP targets for corporate distributors, negotiate and deliver local distributor targets in line with budgeted growth expectation
- Ensure trade investment is within budgeted % guideline and return on investment is maximised
- Develop and execute promotional program guidelines to agreed Sara Lee standards
- Ensure NPD is launched in a timely manner to maximise in field execution
- Communicate and execute all promotional and distributor activity to support effective implementation
- Maximise range of products at distributor level via first choice for state distributor network
- Execute distributor and branch support such as end user presentations, deals or agreements, trade show participation and general account support.
- Offer feedback and insights based continuous review/improvement of local plans to achieve maximum impact
- Secure new distributor partners within the Countrywide, NAFDA and Independent channel.
- Secure new major State and national account business within their state
- Actively close distribution gaps within all distributor partners
- Manage all relevant administration, including claims processing, within the required timeframes
- Communication of all SLOB and “at risk of supply” products to distributors
About you:
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- A minimum of 5 years sales experience.
- A high level of knowledge in Foodservice at both end user and distributor level, and passion for the channel
- Strong numeracy and literary skills High level of attention to detail – experience with forecasting
- A proven track record for hunting/securing new business (Distributor/end user) and delivering volume and NSV.
- Highly skilled in communications/presentations with buyers.
- Proven track record of negotiation with state distributors.
- Ability to utilise a broad range of business reporting tools eg. Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 etc
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player
- An ability to interpret/understand company objectives as they relate to operational objectives and strategies
