About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as the NSW/ACT State Sales Manager. The role is responsible for leading a team of dynamic On-Premise experts, coaching, mentoring, and fostering a high-performance culture. Building long-standing, preferential relationships with our key account groups based on a deep understanding of the Customer’s organization and the drivers and barriers to their buying behaviour to drive volume and profitability. There will be frequent Sydney (metro) travel in the role, and can be based out of our Macquarie Park or Huntingwood offices if needing to work on-site.
In this Role
- Drive new business and maintain existing business focussing on state based multi ownership groups in the On-Premise market
- Build a high-performance culture by setting world class leading standards, holding others accountable, providing regular communication and course correcting where required
- Support the BDMs, co-ordinating communication and information sharing across state business units, including sales reporting, on premise insights and the use of Stay in Front (CRM tool)
- Review and ensure the newly created OPP groups are commercially attractive, well communicated, and successful in winning new business.
- Contribute and be a leader in Supplier and key partner interactions & negotiations
You’re Likely a Match If
- Ability to manage large/state-based customer accounts
- Proven ability to exceed sales targets using a structured data-driven, planned approach - strong numeric, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Customer segment profitability analysis – able to evaluate customer performance in consultation with finance/commercial analysts
- Business unit planning – able to translate the segmentation strategy into territory plans and establish clearly aligned goals and targets with your team
