A not-for-profit incorporated Association formed in 1981, the Australian Sports Turf Managers Association (ASTMA) represents over 1,750 members as the peak industry body for sports turf management in Australia.
A Registered Training Organisation (RTO# 46011), the Association delivers national qualifications in Sports Turf Management, and is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic State Training Manager based in Adelaide.
The State Training Manager will assist in the delivery of Sports Turf Management training to students in South Australia, sharing their knowledge and skills with the new generation of sports turf management students.
This position is ideal for Turf Managers who hold a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management (or higher) and are looking to get into Training and obtain their Qualifications in Training & Assessment or those who currently hold Qualifications in both Sports Turf Management and Training & Assessment (TAE)
The position is full time, 5-days per week (37.5 hours/week) from Monday to Friday, and this role will allow you the opportunity to commence training whilst undertaking study to gain TAE Qualifications
About the Role
The Trainer and Assessor position will assist in delivering vocational courses to students in South Australia, including Apprentices undertaking qualifications in Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
The role will be based in Adelaide to deliver a high level of engagement with the industry throughout South Australia, acting as the State lead for training the development of Apprentices, and as the primary contact for workplaces and students to engage with their training.
Requirements:
- Certificate III in Sports Turf Management (or higher)
- Hold or willing to obtain Certificate IV in Training & Education (TAE 40116)
- Minimum 3 years current experience in the sports turf management industry
If you do not currently hold training and assessment Qualifications TAE 40116 (Training & Assessment) but have industry experience and are want to undertake training to complete your TAE Qualifications (Training & Assessment), this role will allow you the opportunity to commence training whilst undertaking study to gain TAE Qualifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver training in sports turf management via face-to-face and Virtual classroom sessions to students
- Assess student competency via practical and online assessments
- Assist in the management of student administration and enrolments
- Liaise with students to ensure they are supported and progress through their learning and development
- Liaise with employers and industry to ensure student learning and development needs are supported
