Jenner & Co Logistics & Supply Chain recruitment is pleased to be partnering with an exciting and growing Transport & 3PL client in Victoria to source their new State Operations Manager.
We are looking for someone from an ad hoc and dynamic transport environment, who has led point to point local driver operations across the state of Victoria.
The key part of the role will be to maintain and manage an efficient flow of work, ensuring all bookings are despatched in an efficient and timely manner and that we have a sufficient number of fleet vehicles including outside hire companies to effectively cover all incoming work within our service offerings.
Our client’s needs and requirements are the main focus and priority of the Operations Manager, also ensuring problems and issues are resolved quickly and effectively, keeping in mind the profitability and service offering of the business as well as further developing a culture of excellence within the operations team.
Other key responsibilities include….
- Provision of best in practice logistics operations for customer service via phone, email, and other channels to agreed customer SLA standards optimisation in a fast-paced environment.
- Timely, accurate, and relevant, analysis of new and existing scenarios delivered to scope.
- Designing, development, and production of KPIs through company software to ensure the capturing of transport data.
- Implementation of customer solutions as specified in SLA including SOP development and implementation, Ops IT integrations, commercial data capture.
- Over seeing point to point fleet operations, to achieve operational goals and timely customer service to clients.
- Work with the executive team to drive optimisation strategies to help achieve the organisations strategic plan.
- Manage daily job target, fleet size, staff and driver retention.
- Minimise upgrades and additional extraordinary payments or offers to complete jobs in progress. Maximise company profitability.
Experience required
- Clear understanding of network and logistics management
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a managed freight solutions/logistics environment and fleet management
- Be tertiary educated in operations/logistics or other related discipline
- Demonstrated history of strong leadership and relationship building skills
- Have exceptional attention to detail and advanced Microsoft Excel experience
- Operations Implementation skills
- Have a proven history of generating ideas for analysis and business improvement
- A history of following client SLA's and creating the necessary SOP to ensure consistency and integrity
- Have a high degree of customer service and stakeholder management skills
- Be open to travel to clients/suppliers both locally and interstate as required
- Ability to change manage a workforce, skills in “Change Management”
- MS Word (Inter.); Power Point (Basic), Outlook
