About the role:
We currently have a new opportunity for a National Transport Carrier Operations Manager at Bunnings! Based in our national support office in Burnley this role will report to our Supply Chain Manager and will directly lead a team of 4 across the country. The role will be focused on a new program for Bunnings focused on transport management of 3PL providers/carriers. This position will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the day to day operations of Carrier services on a national level.
What's involved:
- Managing relationships with Carriers and ensuring our Carriers comply with all legal requirements and regulations
- Lead Carrier negotiations to deliver safety, service and cost
- Analyse and build bottom up transport costs
- Audit Carrier operations and work with our Carriers to improve service levels
- Oversee the day to day operations of our Carrier services (scheduling, routing and tracking to deliver on time
- Monitor and report on Carrier performance and continually lead areas for operational and network optimisation improvements
- Lead, coach and develop the newly established team
- Manage the budgets, profit and loss and conduct regular cost analysis looking for recommendations for cost effective solutions
Who we're looking for:
You live and breathe transport and are focused on influencing to drive improvement. You are commercially astute with brilliant interpersonal communication skills and have the innate ability to be able to motivate others to be high performing.
You’ll need:
- Degree qualification in logistics, supply chain or similar with solid experience managing significant transport budgets
- Proven experience in Carrier negotiations and operations management ideally at a national level will help support success in this role
- This role will lead a geographically dispersed team so previous experience with direct people leadership is needed
