The role
Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy or Executive Director of Allied Health of the work unit in the HHS where the position is located, you will spearhead the identification, design, and implementation of state-wide Clinical Education initiatives. Your role involves providing leadership in the growth of Pharmacy Clinical educators, aligning efforts with Queensland Health's strategic directions and the Pharmacy Workforce Plan 2022-2032. Leveraging high-level clinical and educational expertise, you will coordinate and support Clinical Education, establish state-wide programs for placements, and foster a network of clinical educators across Hospital and Health Services. Collaboration is key as you lead pharmacy and inter-professional Clinical Education initiatives, develop targeted training initiatives and advocate for the profession's education needs through expert communication and negotiation skills. With a focus on effective program management, evaluation, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, you will contribute to the quality and sustainability of these vital initiatives.
In this dynamic role, you will actively partner with a range of stakeholders including universities and collaborate in national and state environments. Your management skills will be crucial in overseeing people, service improvement initiatives, and resources, ensuring the success and longevity of these strategic Clinical Education and workforce development endeavours.

Your expertise is crucial in leading state-wide initiatives for pharmacy students and workforce, aligning with overarching priorities. Furthermore, your proven proficiency involves adept advocacy, communication, and negotiation with diverse internal and external stakeholders, offering authoritative advice on state-wide professional initiatives.
Additionally, your role necessitates the ability to identify, facilitate, and lead interprofessional Clinical Education initiatives, highlighting high-level expertise, skills, and knowledge in evidence-based practices within contemporary pharmacy and Clinical Education. It is important to note that holding general registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia is mandatory, and while not obligatory, possessing a relevant post-graduate qualification is highly valued. Compliance with Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) requirements is essential for Health Care Workers in Queensland Health, emphasizing vaccinations or evidence of immunity to specific diseases.
