Job description

About the Role
The Outreach Programs Coordinator will manage the Amgen Scholars Program (ASP) and the Indigenous Students in Science Research Internship (ISSRI), facilitating student engagement in research and career preparation. Responsibilities include promotion, partner liaison, coordination of activities, and reporting. Reporting to the Manager, STEM Outreach Programs, the role also supports other outreach initiatives within the team.Top of FormYour responsibilities will include:
  • Promote internship program opportunities and recruit labs and students with guidance from selection committees.
  • Communicate and liaise with a range of stakeholders to ensure programs are high quality, culturally sensitive and impactful.
  • Running the day-to-day progression of the Internship programs, solving problems as required and tailoring the program to student needs.
  • Measuring program performance against set goals, both internal and external.
Who We Are Looking For
You will ideally have experience in tertiary institutions and coordinating programs, with excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to program improvement.Top of FormYou will also have:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience, education and/or training.
  • Experience in program coordination including project planning, budget management, risk analysis and event implementation.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for supporting STEM students on their career pathway.
  • Cultural sensitivity to Indigenous peoples and be willing to undergo extensive cultural competency training to coordinate the program in collaboration with Indigenous representatives in the Faculty.
