Morgan Consulting are delighted to be supporting a long standing client in the recruitment fo a Warehouse (Stock Control) Supervisor.
As a Warehouse (Stock Control) Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of their warehouse facility. You will be responsible for leading a team of Stock Controllers, managing inventory, and ensuring efficient and safe warehouse operations. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in warehouse management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate a team of stock controllers, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, including proper handling of hazardous materials and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and accuracy, conducting regular stock takes and audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with other departments, including logistics, purchasing, and customer service, to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Utilise warehouse management software to track inventory movements, manage picking routes, and generate reports.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient warehouse environment, optimising layout and storage space as needed.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity, reducing waste and minimising costs.
- Handle any issues or concerns that arise during warehouse operations, escalating to management as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse procedures, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Experience with warehouse management software and systems; familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management System) preferred.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment is a plus.
