Pohlmans Nursery is located in the beautiful Lockyer Valley region west of Brisbane. We are the largest wholesale production nursery on the Eastern Seaboard with operations spread across our 175 acre site.
Pohlmans Nursery is family owned and operated and has been since its inception back in 1976 by Val & John Pohlman. With approximately 200 team members, Pohlmans are focused not only on growing beautiful plants, but also having our team members grow their futures with us.
The Role
As a Stock Controller at Pohlmans, you will be responsible for maximising saleable stock inventory through all aspects of physical stock control including stocktaking, dumpage, data input and analysis. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate records of plant and product inventory, coordinating with our Production & Growing teams as well as supporting the Sales team with stock availability information.
Our Stock Controllers must be able adaptable; dealing with living products, seasonal changes to product lines, weather implications, product quality variations means our day-to-day is ever changing.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the relevant Division Manager, our Stock Controller's responsibilities include:
- Providing daily sales inventory availability reports
- Proactively monitoring stock to ensure saleable products put to sales
- Routinely conducting product recounts
- Communicating with the Sales team on stock levels, quality, and requirements
- Communicating with the growing, preparation and packing teams to ensure efficient stock management and quality control maintained
- Managing stocktaking processes and ensuring quality information outcomes
- Maintaining accuracy and completeness of data in the ERP system including maintaining excellent standards of records; stock adjustments, product count sheets, seed-to-sales data
Qualifications & Skills
- Highly numerate with the ability to understand data
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Previous stock control experience
- Experience using computerised stock management or ERP systems
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Superior time management skills with the ability to manage work schedules unsupervised
- Flexible and reliable with the capacity to work under pressure, a skilled multitasker
