Use your Expertise & Skills
Working directly with Proximity’s public sector clients you will develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to support the goals and objectives of a large government department by:
- Crafting clear and concise messaging tailored to various audiences, including government officials and stakeholders.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, including meetings, forums, and consultations, to gather feedback and foster collaborative relationships.
- Providing strategic advice and guidance to senior management on communication and stakeholder engagement matters.
- Collaborating with client internal teams, including policy, legal, and media relations, to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and communication efforts.
- Representing the client in meetings, events, and public engagements, as required.
- Staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to communication and stakeholder engagement to inform strategy development and implementation.
- Supporting crisis communication planning and response efforts, as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and stakeholder engagement plans in a government or public sector environment.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling content for various communication channels and audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, community groups, and industry representatives.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of Australian Defence processes, policies, and procedures is highly desirable.
- Due to the nature of the work, you must be an Australian citizen and hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance.
