The Planning and Quality branch within Federal Government Department is seeking an EL1 Assistant Director.
Your new company
Hays Construction & Property is working with an integral Federal Government Department, who support the functions and provide essential services to one of our nation's most important buildings. The building is a large multi-faceted and complex building that requires ongoing preventative and reactive maintenance to always keep it operational. Within the Planning and Quality branch, they are seeking an EL1 Assistant Director, Strategic Maintenance Planning.
Your new role
- Lead and develop maintenance strategies, plans and procedures for maintenance, ensuring all strategies and plans comply with relevant statutory codes, regulations and WHS requirements
- Manage the buildings Engineering Maintenance Management System
- Providing professional technical advice in relation to engineering system maintenance, identifying key issues associated with the delivery of services and improving business operations
- Support asset management planning through reporting on the annual Engineering Systems, Landscape and Building Condition ratings, including key performance indicators as required under the PGPA act.
- Prepare a range of written materials including business cases, Senate Estimates submissions, briefings, operational procedures and corporate documentation
- Represent the Planning and Quality branch at a high level internally and externally
- Lead and manage a small team, promoting and implementing cultural change, including a customer-focused culture.
What you'll need to succeed
- Ideally, you will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in the government environment.
- Must have commonwealth procurement experience
- Proven experience of building collaborative teams with a positive culture
- Technical background (engineering services or trade, facilities manager, relevant qualifications or experience).
- Exposure and understanding to Maintenance Management
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- You must be an Australian citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
