Van der Meer Consulting is a multi-disciplinary Structural and Civil engineering consultancy with offices in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Newcastle, and Sydney. Our rapidly expanding company is currently seeking a suitably qualified Structural Engineer to join our Sydney office.
Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Minimum Bachelor of Engineering in Structural/ Civil.
- Minimum 5 years’ Structural Engineering experience gained within a consultancy environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in the design of projects in the residential, commercial, retail and industrial sectors.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Sound knowledge and application of Australian Standard design codes, relevant design techniques and construction procedures and techniques.
- Experience in the use of software such as RC Buildings, Microstran or Space Gass, Rapt, Slabs, PT 3D and Microsoft Office.
- Must have excellent presentation and communication skills as these are essential for client liaison.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and work with draftsmen, engineers, architects and design managers.
- Proven track record of working to tight deadlines and within budget.
- Be enthusiastic and committed to facilitating client needs
- Must demonstrate initiative and be a team player
- C class drivers licence
