Bay Timber is the foremost supplier of residential frames, trusses and joists to top tier construction companies in New South Wales. We pride ourselves on producing market leading, high quality products utilising the industries latest manufacturing equipment. Due to our growth, we have opportunities available for experienced or suitably qualified candidates to join or team.
The Role
In your daily role you will experience:
- Working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Gain valuable experience working as an engineer directly for a leading manufacturer in the residential market.
- Product development including testing.
- Design of timber and both structural and light gauge steel structures.
- Problem solving to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will need
- 2 – 5 years post graduate experience
- Sound knowledge and application of Australian Standard design codes, National Construction Code and relevant design techniques.
- Experience with light gauge steel and timber structures is preferred.
- Experience in the use of software such as Space Gass, Hyne, ClearCalcs and Microsoft Office. Experience with AutoCAD / Tekla is desired though not essential.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and liaise with the drafting team, fellow engineers, architects, builders and design managers.
- Be enthusiastic and committed to helping the business grow and develop.
- Use your problem-solving skills and initiative to overcome obstacles and drive continuous improvement.
- Must demonstrate initiative and be a team player.
