About the Role
The Students and Programs Coordinator in the Department of Medical Education at the University of Melbourne plays a pivotal role in the delivery of the redesigned Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, characterised by flexibility and tailored learning experiences. Responsible for overseeing the creation, development, and delivery of the Clinical Scholar Pathway, the role requires dynamic leadership, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to enhancing the student experience. Working within the Academic Programs and closely with key stakeholders, the incumbent drives improvements in administrative processes and communication strategies, contributing to the advancement of medical education at the university.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate the Doctor of Medicine Clinical Scholar Pathway and administration of the student lifecycle.
  • Analyse complex preference data to support the equitable and transparent allocation of students to placement opportunities
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of systems to meet Student and stakeholder needs.
  • Ensure the delivery of a client focussed service in accordance with organisational expectations.

Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail and excellent stakeholder management and administrative skills. They excel in both verbal and written communication, demonstrate leadership within a team, and exhibit high-level organisational and problem-solving abilities, prioritising and coordinating multiple tasks effectively.

You will also have:

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise in Student and course administration; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. 
  • Extensive experience in an administrative role that required coordination of a range of complex functions and provision of advice about policies and procedures. 
  • High level organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple functions and meet competing deadlines; to work proactively, plan and respond to unexpected situations. 
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and continuous improvement process.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
