Annandale Christian College is a non-denominational College that provides quality, Christ-Centered Education from Kindergarten through to Year 12.
We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join our team in the role of:
- Student Wellbeing Officer
- Full time - term time only
- Commencing in Term 2, 2024.
About the role
The Student Wellbeing Officer works across the full College (P-12) providing social, emotional, and spiritual support to students within the specific needs of the College. The role assists in meeting the needs of students and families in ways that enhance the wellbeing and development of the College community. This can include support and guidance about ethics, values, relationship issues; the provision of student welfare, and enhancing engagement with the broader community.
The role seeks to empower young people and their families, acting as an advocate and running programs for those who are disadvantaged or disconnected.
The Student Wellbeing Officer works closely with those in key roles of pastoral care and learning support, teachers, and the College Leadership Team.
About you
- Hold (or be actively working towards obtaining) a Certificate IV in Mental Health or a similar equivalent qualification; including two units of competency in making appropriate referrals, mental health, working with young people.
- Relevant demonstrated experience in the field of youth mental health.
- Undertake appropriate professional learning as required of the role including; completion of professional learning package for Student Wellbeing Officers delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner and Youth Mental Health First Aid training.
- Hold a valid Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or be able to obtain.
- Ability to maintain a degree of flexibility in working hours from time to time as required for the position.
- Have current Australian working rights.
Desirable
- Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or similar.
- Experience working in the education sector.
