Due to the growth in securing and delivering large-scale substations, we have an opportunity for a Substation Design Electrical Engineer with a protection application focus, to be responsible for the implementation of Substation Secondary engineering services which include integrating with and supporting the construction operations and management as required for the delivery of projects within the agreed scope, timeframe, budget, quality and safety standards.
ABOUT YOU
- Engineering Degree (Electrical), with 5 plus years’ experience working as an electrical engineer in the area of Substation Secondary Design and protection application.
- Understanding of substation and transmission/distribution line, protection and control.
- Experience in creating and checking:
- AC and DC protection and metering Single Line Diagrams
- Relay protection settings and settings reports for substations and associated plant including transmission lines.
- IED (Relay) protection and control configuration files
- Bench testing/Scheme testing (Proof of Concept) protection relays
- Experience with design and implementation of IEC61850 protection systems.
- Experience with creation and implementation of test plans using Omicron and/or Doble test equipment.
- Ability to read AC and DC protection schematics and communicate with construction and commissioning personnel.
