AddressPosition Purpose
You will be part of a small team of proficient Health, Safety and Training professionals. The team is responsible for implementing, managing, and improving the Safety Health & Management System (SHMS) to meet the operations objectives and legislative requirements. Including ensuring our contracting partners management standards and practices are also in accordance with relevant legislation and Carmichael Coal Mine (CCM) requirements. We are champions of change in the promotion of continual best practice, driven to enhancing our site safety culture that ensures accountability, ownership, and responsibility across the site.
Supporting the Site Safety Manager and Mine Leadership Team this role will be responsible for governance and control of the Safety and Health Management System of CCM.
Key Accountabilities
Any additional task as may be directed from time to time by management.
- Maintenance of Document Control processes to ensure that the integrity of the SHMS structure is maintained.
- Checking and ensuring that SHMS documents and requirements are neither duplicated nor contradict one another.
- Managing consistency in the content, voice, tone, and language of the SHMS.
- Administration of SHMS documents to ensure correctness in Definitions, References and Related Documents.
- Maintenance and facilitation of the BBRA and its results.
- Development and facilitation of bowtie analysis process applied to Principal and Fatal Hazards.
- Developing the processes to be applied to the identification and ongoing management of Critical Controls.
- Facilitate and or/ support the review of SHMS documents including the development and facilitation of associated risk assessments and technical writing of documents.
- Review and support for investigations into high potential incidents.
- Provide status reports in relation to the SHMS.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Necessary:
- Significant coal industry experience that includes the application and / or management of risk, assurance and management of a SHMS.
- RIIWHS601 Establish and maintain the WHS management system
- RIIRIS601 Establish and maintain the risk management system
- RIIRIS402 Carry out the risk management process
- ICAM Lead Investigator / ICAM Facilitator
- Current Standard 11 & CBM
Desired:
- RIIGOV601 Establish, maintain and develop a statutory compliance management system
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
