All whilst making your mark on the future.About this part of our organisation:Our Zinc Assets in Australia include multiple & geographically dispersed operations, including underground and open pit mines, processing plants and port facilities. Additionally we have operations across Asia, both North and South American continents and Europe.Mount Isa is home to the majority of our assets in Australia and this role may be either based residentially in Mount Isa or on a FIFO roster would be considered for the successful candidate.Mount Isa is one of the better facilitated mining towns around the country. With a local community of around 20,000 residents there are multiple choices of schools, supermarkets, and activities. From arts and culture to a thriving sporting community and more, it is the central hub for the surrounding area housing key government services for the region and hosting events such as the largest rodeo in the southern hemisphere.About your potential new position:Your primary purpose will be to lead a team of seniors, mining engineers, surveyors and graduates to translate the long and medium term plans into actionable mine plans for operations to execute with precision and confidence to safely achieve production metrics.To deliver on that purpose some of your responsibilities will be:
- Provide accurate, timely and short term mining plans that enable safe and productive mining to meet targets.
- Build partnering relationships with your operations and engineering peers to create a team environment between areas.
- To utilise your experience to interpret data, trends and the bigger picture to your team so they can capably deliver on their tasks.
- Drive best practice initiatives to continually enhance and simplify the process of short term planning.
- Take an active interest in the development, technical, functionally and professionally in your team to improve capability and retention.
- Oversee the function of short term planning in all areas of compliance, standards and procedures.
- Enthusiasm and resilience to lead your team to deliver outstanding and consistent results.
- A leader who can balance support, coaching and accountability for quality and timely deliverables.
- A thorough knowledge of short term mining planning for an underground metal mine, gained from experience of working in long hole open stoping operations and relevant qualifications.
