BMA Caval Ridge Mine is an open cut mine located in Queensland, Australia. Caval Ridge Mine is situated in the northern section of the Bowen Basin, approximately 6km south-east of Moranbah and 160km south-west of Mackay. Travel options are available on a flexible 7 days on, 7 days off roster.

Overburden removal and coal mining are the two main components of open cut mining operations at Caval Ridge, with an on-site CHPP to process the coal. Waste movement at the Caval Ridge Mine is excavated using dragline and truck & shovel fleets. The CHPP includes a run-of-mine (ROM) dump station, coal receiving and sizing facility and tailings filter station.

About the Role

The Superintendent Productionrole, will be either managing the BMA Coal Mining Fleet or BMA Prestrip fleets, across Caval Ridge Mine. Both fleets are large and span across all open pit areas on site; overseeing +200 people, productive material movement , material risk, safety and culture of the teams.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Audit and enforce compliance with the site's SHMS;
  • Lead, coach and mentor employees to deliver on plan and build a high performing team;
  • Facilitate the development, implementation and maintenance of common standards including improvements to processes and systems;
  • Working in a proactive business culture and with a supportive management structure, you'll have the chance to promote business excellence through your team and you'll make full use of your broad range of skills in the areas of continuous improvement, technical knowledge and communication;
  • Demonstrate and instil an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development;

About You

You will have demonstrated leadership capability as well as strong interpersonal skills necessary to deal with the diverse range of employees within our business.

You will have excellent communication skills, verbal and written along with your ability to influence stakeholders by setting direction, providing sufficient communications to gain agreement and commitment at all levels while taking accountability and have an action oriented working style.

You will have experience in relationship management focused roles with a demonstrated understanding of the mechanics of service contracts and the demonstrated experience in the management of contractors, within mining or similar industries.
