Saraji Mine:
The Saraji mine is one of Australia's largest open pit coal mines, near the town of Dysart in the Bowen Basin. It is located on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people. BUMA Australia provides labour, supervision, technical support and mobile plant to perform truck and excavator pre-strip operations.
Job description:
We are looking for a Production Superintendent to join our BUMA team on our Saraji project, reporting to the Project Manager. As a key member of the leadership team you will hold an integral role in influencing the project's safety and production outcomes. You will have a strong focus on supervision of all mining and earth moving equipment, and be responsible for leading safe and effective production teams and driving continuous improvement principles.
Key Responsiblities:
- Ensuring continuous maximisation of coal recovery and minimising grade dilution during the mining process
- Maintaining a high-level of safety awareness of all employees and contractors
- Managing the production on site by optimising plans, methods, equipment, schedules and expenditure
- Daily liaison with the client in relation to planning and safety needs
- Attendance at client meetings as required
- Ensuring ongoing effective people management of the crew by setting clear performance objectives and providing regular feedback and development for employees through training and skills development
- Complying with safety policies and procedures
- Communicating with the workforce regarding compliance to plans and production targets and communicating variances to those targets
Profile description:
About you:
- Experience in mining, principally working in coal mining environment
- Ability to work to tight time frames and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience leading and mentoring a team
