About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.

We are looking for safety focused Supervisors with a passion for people, to lead our Mobile Equipment - Track Maintenance teams across the Pilbara mine operations region. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe delivery of daily production targets, daily inspections of the plant and assisting in maintaining plant reliability.

Reporting to the Superintendent Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will:

  • Being an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices, and processes
  • Providing safety and technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to your team of trade and non-trade personnel, understanding their strengths in work to ensure that safety is first and that the correct work is completed
  • Completing daily inspections of all work areas and regular on the job interactions with the team to develop a safe and efficient work culture
  • Allocating and coordinating planned maintenance activities using the Rio Tinto workflow management principles
  • Prioritising and managing breakdowns with the mine production team
  • Driving continuous improvement projects circulating around cost saving and production efficiency

What you'll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Experience working with Track Maintenance equipment, preferably with diggers, drills in the field
  • Confidence in leading, coaching and developing team members
  • Proven experience operating in a field leadership role, preferably within a Mobile Equipment, preferably within the mining industry
  • Ability to execute work in alignment with Rio Tinto values (Care, Courage and Curiosity) and behaviours
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to achieve outcomes through influence and collaboration with others
  • A current and valid 'C Class' manual driver's licence

Where you'll be working

Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities.

The Greater Brockman Operations consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.
