Position Overview:
The Supply Chain and Distribution Manager oversees and manages the company’s Supply Chain and Distribution strategies and operations to maximise process efficiency and productivity. This role involves managing logistics, warehousing, inventory control, and Distribution. The goal is to ensure seamless operations from production to delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement Supply Chain strategies that enhance efficiency and speed while collaborating with other departments.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the Supply Chain and logistics team by fostering a positive and productive working environment, encouraging continuous improvement and professional development.
- Customer Service: Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels, tracking systems and audits to prevent discrepancies.
- Order Fulfilment: Oversee the order fulfilment process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in picking, packing, and shipping.
- Performance Metrics: Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for Supply Chain and Distribution activities.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all Supply Chain and logistics operations comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the Supply Chain and logistics budget.
- Technology and Systems: Oversee the implementation and utilisation of Supply Chain software and systems (e.g., ERP, WMS) to streamline operations and improve data accuracy.
- Distribution and Logistics (potential): Coordinate and optimise transportation and logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
- Warehousing Operations (potential): Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. However, the equivalent level of learning through job experience will also be considered
- In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain and logistics processes and best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in Supply Chain software and systems (e.g., ERP, WMS).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Understanding of Australian Supply Chain and logistics regulations and standards.
- This role is based in a manufacturing facility and may require occasional travel to warehouses and Distribution centres.
