The Supply Chain Director role will be an integral leader on the Oceania Business Unit (BU) cross functional leadership team as well as sitting on the Asia Pacific Supply Chain Fulfillment leadership team from a functional standpoint. The position will be responsible for the overall delivery of the Oceania Supply Chain strategy (in line with Global strategic expectations) and the execution of that strategy through leading a combination of functions within direct management control and with the support of third-party Co-manufacturing and Logistics partners. The Supply Chain Director will have a direct reporting team within the Supply Chain Fulfillment function (Supply, Logistics, Customer Service) and a combination of matrix reporting functions across New Product Commercialisation, S&OP & Demand and Quality areas. The role will also be a critical sponsor to Beam Suntory Oceania's enterprise transition project from our current Co-Manufacturing & Distribution partner to Suntory Beverage & Foods Oceania, which will execute in mid-2025 in Australia and early 2026 in New Zealand.
Role Responsibilities
Co-Manufacturing & Distributor Management
  • The role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end Supply Chain strategy and execution performance with the current and future co-manufacturing and distribution partners
  • Broad responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Over-arching governance of the local S&OP process and supporting forecasting processes with SBF
  • Delivery of the Innovation commercialisation process and successful execution of key new product deliveries to market on time in full
  • Management of Beam Suntory's in-market customer service and inventory strategies in line with global DRP and Fulfillment expectations
  • Delivery of Supply Chain productivity initiatives to drive out cost and deliver value to the Oceania business unit
  • In-market leadership over Beam Suntory's quality strategy and execution
Strategic Leadership & People Leadership
  • The role will form part of the Oceania leadership team. In this capacity, the Supply Chain Director will be responsible for setting the functional strategy and delivery but equally, will be an equal seat at the table in setting the overall Oceania business unit strategy and leadership of the Oceania team.
  • In conjunction, the role will sit on the Asia Pacific Supply Chain Fulfillment leadership team, working closely with the Senior Director, Supply Chain Fulfillment APAC and peers in other business units within APAC to help set the Fulfillment strategy and operational execution of that strategy in the region.
  • The role will manage the Oceania Supply Chain team which is made up of a combination of direct and matrix reports
Project Sponsorship and Execution
  • Over the next two year period, the role will represent Beam Suntory as the local sponsorship lead to the Supply Chain and Planning & IBP programs of work, responsible for helping set the strategy and project delivery in line with Beam Suntory's expectations
  • The role will specifically sponsor the following program workstreams:
  • Greenfield Manufacturing
  • Logistics
  • Quality
  • Procurement
  • Planning & IBP
  • In conjunction, the SC Director will work collaboratively with the Oceania leadership team to help set the future “Suntory Oceania” strategy and culture alongside key counterparts in Suntory Beverage & Foods leadership team.
Qualifications
  • The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of Supply Chain Management in a mature Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) environment and with direct experience leading teams across key 'Plan' (Demand, Supply, Distribution Requirements Planning, Inventory) and 'Deliver' pillars (Logistics, Customer Service, Customer Supply Chain).
  • The candidate should also have a solid understanding of Beverage Manufacturing, Quality and New Product Commercialisation processes
  • Ideally, the candidate would have a proven track record leading for major Supply Chain and/or enterprise transformational change with a strong background in Project Management capabilities.
  • Preferably, the candidate will have a background in the Spirits industry within the Australia or New Zealand marketplace, however, broader regional experiences are also welcomed as well as backgrounds in broader alcoholic beverage, non-alcoholic beverage and FMCG industries.
  • The candidate will have broad business and commercial acumen to support their Supply Chain skill set and will have a proven track record working effectively in high performing cross functional leadership teams
  • It would be advantageous for the candidate to have working experiences in SAP ERP systems
  • Mobility - the candidate would need to be able to travel up to a maximum of 20% of their time, both domestically and internationally
  • Languages - the candidate would need to be fluent in both written and spoken English.
