The Opportunity
We require a Support Worker to join Pearl Home Care Melbourne North East on a casual basis, with potential to consider part time for the right candidate. As our Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to provide in-home care to our culturally and linguistically diverse elderly clients and their families.
You will play a key role in helping our clients maintain their dignity and providing them with services that support them with their health, happiness and independent living, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing
- Meal preparation
- Accompany clients to appointments, social activities or other outings
- Support with domestic assistance/housekeeping and errands
- Emotional support and companionship
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of care provided
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Minimum Certificate III Individual Support or equivalent
- 3+ years experience as an Aged CareSupport Worker
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
- Current Open Australian Drivers License with a reliable, registered, and comprehensively insured car
- Flu vaccinations (or willingness to obtain)
- Evidence of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations
- Basic computer skills to operate tablet devices
- Accurate documentation skills
- Willingness to work in a wide range of diverse settings including community and at clients’ homes
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and report as required to your supervisor
- Empathy, patience, understanding and a real passion for supporting the elderly
Job Requirements
- Evidence of Australian Works Rights (Birth Certificate, Passport etc.)
- 2 Professional Work Referees
- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
