Primary Function:
As a Support Worker at Allcare Community Support, you will play a vital role in supporting and enabling individuals with disabilities to lead meaningful lives and be active members of their communities. Your responsibilities will include delivering support services in line with clients' person-centered plans to ensure the achievement of identified outcomes.
Essential Criteria:
- Certificate III in Disability Services or equivalent
- Current HLTAID011 Provide first aid +& HLTAID009 CPR
- NDIS Worker screening check
- Valid DCSI Working with Children Check
- Current Manual Handling Certificate
- Current Safe Environments: Through their eyes training
- Valid and Current South Australian Driver's License
- Experience in managing individuals with disabilities, including those with complex needs and behaviors requiring intervention
- Superior customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Desirable Criteria:
- Medication Training
- Certificate IV in Disability Services / Certificate III in Aged Care
- Certificate III in Home Care / Community Welfare
- Certificate III in Mental Health
- Working knowledge of relevant statutory requirements, including the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including those with complex care needs
Key Accountability Areas:
As a Support Worker at Allcare Community Support, you will be responsible for:
- Providing professional, person-centered support and services to clients, ensuring their individual needs and goals are met
- Maintaining clients' rights, privacy, and confidentiality at all times
- Collaborating with colleagues to achieve service delivery excellence and promote a positive work environment
- Participating in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
- Adhering to Work Health & Safety policies and practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
