Tea-Cup Cottage is currently looking for Support Workers in the Redlands area to work with young people who are under Child Safety.
In this role you will be supporting young people that have their own life stories so far, making them unique from one and other and as an individuals. Whether you are supporting one or more young person, Tea-Cup Cottage approach is to work in collaboration as a team towards right outcomes.
Role responsibilities:
- Work individually with young people in a collaborative team environment
- Following care plans and other programs related to young person
- Assisting with daily house duties
- Attending appointments
- Developing important life skills and decision making
- Encouraging young people to build relationships with family and peers
- Supporting young people to engage in experiences they enjoy out in the community
- Monitoring their behaviours and supporting them through difficult times
- Working with different stakeholders to achieve realistic results
- Record shift notes and incident reports
- Following and maintaining workplace procedures (administering & recording medications, maintenance logs, property inspections/food safety)
Work across flexible roster, and may include day shifts, sleepovers and active (awake) overnight shifts.
Essential skills and requirements (or willing to obtain) :
- Experience working with young people with different behaviours
- Experience working with young people of complex needs
- Youth worker or similar industry qualifications (Cert IV/Diploma of Youth work/Diploma in Disability etc.)
- Paid Blue Card
- Current National Police Check
- Disability worker screening (or Yellow Card)
- Opens Drivers License with registered vehicle and full comprehensive insurance
- First Aid and CPR
