Position Description: Supported Playgroup Facilitator - Buloke Shire
The Supported Playgroup Facilitator’s primary role is to provide early learning opportunities that enhance language, literacy, social and emotional development for children aged 0-4 years through play. Underpinning the delivery of playgroup’s and the in home learning work is the acknowledgement that the parent is the child’s first educator and for some families living in the Swan Hill area experiencing complexity and or disadvantage more support may be required to enable their child to reach their full potential. Alongside this are our playgroups within the Buloke Shire who also aim to build parents capacity to be their child’s first educator. Whilst this is not the primary role of the applicant it may be part of the duties required. The key responsibilities and duties are therefore transferable to both Smalltalk and DSS Buloke Shire Playgroups.
Qualifications and Experience:
- The Employee will be expected to have previous relevant experience in the field and will be required to hold an accredited qualification relevant to the position at Diploma Level or above or demonstrate previous relevant experience equivalent to that level to the satisfaction of the Employer.
- A person employed at this level will be expected to have specific skills and knowledge required to undertake the role of Supported Playgroup Facilitator and have a clear understanding about Community Development.
- A current driver’s licence.
