The role:
You will lead Warrigal's environmental sustainability efforts by engaging in strategic planning, goal setting, and effectively communicating initiatives. You will motivate stakeholders to adopt sustainable behaviours, ensuring our operations meet global sustainability standards. Your responsibilities will include overseeing emission reductions, sustainable procurement, building designs, and operational practices, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship throughout Warrigal.
To be successful you will need:
- Degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering or related field
- A high level of significant experience in a leadership or management role overseeing environmental sustainability programs in a large organisation
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, industry standards, and best practices in carbon management, resource conservation, and sustainable property development.
- Strong analytical skills for data collection, analysis, and interpretation to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Excellent project management skills for handling multiple initiatives, setting priorities, managing resources, and delivering on time and within budget.
- Effective communication skills to explain complex sustainability ideas and gain stakeholder agreement.
- Proven leadership to inspire, motivate, and empower teams towards sustainability goals and behavioural change.
- Proficiency in sustainability reporting and frameworks, with experience in preparing and presenting accurate reports to stakeholders.
- Possess a high level of self-awareness, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills including the ability to facilitate groups
- Current NSW drivers’ licence
