The Opportunity

In this newly created position, you will report to directly to the Director of Sustainability and support the implementation of Cochlear's Global Sustainability strategy.

Our sustainability approach is integrated into business strategy and operations. It reinforces our focus on creating positive social impact at individual and societal levels, while minimising our environmental impact. It helps guide our strategic priorities, manage risk, and improve performance.

Key areas of responsibilities will include preparing reports and dashboards on our sustainability performance in accordance with Australian and global requirements, engaging with various parts of the business to implement sustainability initiatives, providing guidance on sustainability requirements, preparing presentations and training sessions, and other ad hoc projects as required.

About You. As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Required Skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, engineering, business, or environmental science or equivalent.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a corporate sustainability or consultancy role.
  • Experience in sustainability and ESG reporting (e.g. GRI, TCFD, CDP, DJSI).
  • Experience in data analysis for decision making.
  • Ability to work in rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to approach challenges with creativity and resilience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and build productive working relationships at all levels.
  • Experience working collaboratively on a cross-functional basis.

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience in sustainability reporting.
  • Experience working in complex, global business environment.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
