About the role
This position plays a key role in supporting the section to deliver council and community-wide sustainability outcomes through sustainable systems and solutions, city energy systems, environmental building, data and environmental operations and working collaboratively across Council to champion our purpose of Growing Townsville and to deliver the Corporate Plan in consultation with the Townsville Community. This position is accountable to the Chief Sustainability Officer and will be focused on the needs and aspirations of the Townsville community; growing and managing customer relationships, developing a culture of customer-centricity and personal accountability; and reshaping how we deliver services to maximise value.
About you
Our ideal applicant will have:
- Sound knowledge, skills, and experience in community-based Environmental and Sustainability Systems and Solutions.
- Sound knowledge, skills, and experience in Environmental Operations (Management and Systems).
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret and present environmental data sets (including electricity accounts) and develop reports to provide insights into cost-resource efficiency and effectiveness.
- Demonstrated understanding or experience in facilitating youth skills building and creating jobs opportunities in environment and sustainability.
- Class “C” Driver’s Licence.
- Basic stakeholder collaboration and customer services skills.
- Basic analytical, problem-solving skills, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Sound computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel etc.
- Sound communication skills, including ability to write basic reports.
- Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and management of compliance and legislative obligations.
