Reporting to the National Head of Information Technology and Innovation and being part of the National CDC IT team, the Systems Administrator will actively participate in administration, configuration and maintenance of the CDC RAD Systems, servers, desktop and network hardware, software, and infrastructure. “RAD” covers (regional Australia including Northern Territory, Queensland and Regional New South Wales)
The position will also require end to end project management of “special projects” as they arise including system and network integration of newly acquired businesses.
Ensuring that the network is reliable and the organization’s IT resources are used efficiently and productively.

Key Performance Requirements and Duties
Implementation
- Participate in the implementation and integration of in-market technology solutions supplied by external vendors.
- Contribute towards integration of new RAD businesses into CDC’s established systems.
- Install and configure new software and applications.
- Perform software, firmware and hardware updates where required.
Administration
- Assist with administration of the network security including, virus protection, data loss prevention (DLP) email and web filters and gateways.
- Administration and maintenance of CDC Security and CCTV Systems.
- Administration of the servers, desktop and network hardware, software and infrastructure.
- Maintenance and administration of IT Asset registers.
- Administration of CDCs fixed line IP telephone system
- Administration of user accounts, email, O365 accounts and other system user accounts.
Innovation
- Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.
Support
- Maintenance and support of IT equipment and software
- Roll out IT hardware, phones, mobiles and other technology and equipment.
- Communicate with external service providers, such as ISP service providers with respect to support, down time, or other relevant matters.
- Maintenance, support and Administration of mobile phones, tablets, and other portable devices.
- Where necessary, refer problems to vendor and supplier support service and monitor problem resolution to ensure that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
- Monitoring of network traffic and identification of penetration attempts and other threats.
Training
- Develop guides and training packages around usage of CDC software and hardware systems.
Culture
- Foster a culture of local innovation and accountability that supports CDC’s leveraging of the ERP to achieve its operational outcomes.
- Contribute to promotion of corporate innovations and accomplishments in the transport technology space.
Physical Inherent Requirements
- Involves predominantly sedentary tasks requiring a low level of physical activity and alternation between seated and standing positions.
- Incorporates computer-based activities, where staff are required to maintain a slight to moderate degree of cervical flexion for periods of several minutes at a time, occasionally sitting for periods in excess of 20 minutes for up to eight hours per
