Systems Administrator for Electronic Flight Bags

 The Opportunity

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

BDA is looking for a Systems Administrator for Electronic Flight Bags who will join the team.

This role is based at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland.

As a Systems Administrator for Electronic Flight Bags within BDA, you will

• Support multiple software systems to build a key BDA software development environment;
• Collaborate with systems and software engineers throughout the engineering lifecycle to meet design & support requirements;
• create and maintain documentation of the environment's configuration and operational processes;
• Act as an engaging facilitator, bringing out the best in team members with varying levels of experience;
• Collaborate and communicate across a multi-disciplined work environment to deliver robust outcomes for the Super Hornet and Growler capability.

About you

To be considered for the role you will have:

• Prior experience across multiple IT disciplines ideally with 3+ years' experience in similar roles;
• Experience dealing with classified Defence environments;
• High level communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels;
• Ability & Willingness to gain up to Top Secret (Positive Vetting) Security Clearance;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with business, technical stakeholders, senior management and project team members;
• Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to a broad and diverse audience;
• Experience dealing with classified Defence environments;
• Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience using the Apple iOS operating system to perform app/system/security updates on Apple portable devices;
• Knowledge and/or experience with Jeppensen, OzRunways apps.
• Loading and updating Publications (PDF files from OnLine Library systems);
• Portable hardware management including hardware refresh;
• Systems administration - password resets, user registration, training etc.
