How you'll make an impactWe are seeking a Systems Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organisation's technical infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and optimisation of our systems.The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest infrastructure technologies.On a day to day basis you will:
- Design, implemention and support of a broad range of core infrastructure technologies such as SAN, server hardware, VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft server operating systems, SQL database systems, and Active Directory
- Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including access controls and data protection measures
- Responsibility for the establishment of effective monitoring and alerting across the infrastructure platform
- Responsibility for ensuring all infrastructure systems are incorporated into the relevant backup and disaster recovery frameworks
- Involvement in the deployment of applications and patches across both the Windows & Linux operating system platforms
- Participation in transition to support activities for key projects to ensure the successful ongoing operational support of all new systems
- Collection and review of system data for capacity and planning purposes
- Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current and relevant.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network emergencies outside of regular business hours, if required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Certification’s in Windows Server, Redhat Linux, Active Directory, VMware, Citrix and Microsoft are highly desirable
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of system design principles, including hardware, software, and network components
- Experience with systems and equipment from leading vendors, such as VMware, Citrix, HPE and Microsoft
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
