Contribute to making our world safer through innovative product developmentWhat you'll do:As a Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering complex solutions within the cyber security market. You will lead major projects from inception to completion, ensuring the successful delivery of end-to-end solutions. Your responsibilities will include planning, designing, integrating, testing, deploying and maintaining multiple systems. You will also collaborate with Principal Engineers and Solution Architects to achieve efficient and effective solutions for each customer. Your role will extend beyond technical tasks as you mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of System Engineering Department processes.Lead and be accountable for the complete engineering works of major projects including architecture, design, development, deployment, and testing
Plan, design, integrate, test, deploy and maintain multiple systems to ensure the delivery of end solutions
Work and consult with Principal Engineers and Solution Architects on achieving efficient and effective solutions for each customer
Be responsible for scopes of work and managing internal and customer facing design and development
Produce and manage Internal and External Interface Control Documentation (ICDs) and customer facing project documentation (CDRLs)
Design and develop solutions making specific determinations about system performance
Mentor and support junior engineers as required
Conduct system analysis and development, with limited support, to keep systems current with changing technologies
Analyse system specifications and translate system requirements to task specificationsWhat you bring:The ideal Systems Engineer brings a wealth of experience in design, integration, and testing of complex communication systems within Defence or Telecommunications markets. You possess a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Telecommunications, or Information Technology. Your ability to solve problems quickly and completely will be crucial in this role. Excellent communication skills are essential for fostering a collaborative working environment. You have a proven history of producing engineering documentation aligned with Australian defence contracting standards. Your solid understanding of networking and distributed computing environment concepts, expert knowledge of operating systems and computer networking, along with good knowledge of security and encryption will be key to your success.Bachelor's Degree or higher-level qualification in Engineering, Telecommunications or Information Technology
Over 10 years of experience in design, integration and test of complex communications systems in Defence and/or Telecommunications markets
Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
Excellent written and spoken communication supporting collaborative working environment
Proven history of engineering documentation aligned with Australian defence contracting standards
A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts
Expert knowledge of used operating systems and computer networking
