AddressSkills (what you bring to the role)
· 5+ years’ experience with Unix and Linux operating systems
· 5+ years’ experience with Windows Server operating systems
· Operational experience with Virtualisation technologies( Vmware,XCP-NG, Xenserver Citrix, KVM) with a minimum 4 years experience
· Sound knowledge of Cloud environments
- Understanding of NAS and SAN technologies with demonstrated operational experience
- Experience with enterprise level hardware
· Experience with Cisco UCS and Supermicro highly valued
· Experience with VoiP technologies, Freeswitch experience highly regarded.
· In depth understanding of Python, Perl and shell scripting with demonstrated operational experience
· Solid operational experience with Unix and Virtualisation based backup technologies
· Solid knowledge and operational experience with OpenLDAP, MySQL , PSQL, Radiator Radius server, Apache, Bind, Sendmail, Postfix
- In depth knowledge TCP/IP Stack and OSI Layers.
(CCNA level highly valued)
- Implementation and operational experience with security and access control mechanisms in restricting and auditing access
· Solid experience with design and operational change management and configuration policies
- Solid knowledge of design and implementation of server and application monitoring and other systems administrative tools
- Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Key Responsibilities
New servers, systems and applications
o Regularly review the existing systems and application architecture and ensure it meets the business
needs
o Ongoing development taking into consideration processing and load requirements, new technologies,
budgetary constraints and future customer needs
o Assist with evaluation of new equipment and applications, working closely with the Systems Architect and
other Engineers as required
o Initiate new product dialogue where opportunities have been identified and liaise with third party
suppliers to ensure suitability and once selected, oversee delivery and implementation.
· Maintain the Systems and Security of the Systems
o Support and audit monitoring of the server and applications to ensure adequate systems capacity and resource capacity
