Your new role:

We’re growing and are on the search for an innovative and passionate Talent Acquisition Business Partner to join our HR team on a 12-month full time contract. As the Talent Acquisition Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in driving the recruitment and Talent Acquisition strategies for ASDAM’s operations across Australia. Based at our Victorian operations, with a direct reporting line to the Group Capability Manager and an indirect reporting line to the Head of HR Victoria and SA and the Head of HR QLD & US, this position will be responsible for attracting, sourcing, and retaining top talent to support the company's goals and to enable ASDAM to deliver on its growth ambitions. 

The Talent Acquisition Business Partner will possess a strong track record of the manufacturing industry, blue-collar trades, recruitment best practices, and a passion for building effective talent pipelines.

 Your role will be fast-paced and dynamic, and your key duties will include: 

  • Developing and implementing recruitment strategies tailored to the unique needs of the manufacturing industry, including but not limited to production roles, engineering positions, and management positions.
  • Partnering closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, define job requirements, and creating compelling job descriptions.
  • Utilising a variety of innovative sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, digital advertising, networking, and industry events, to attract qualified candidates.
  • Conducting thorough screening and assessment of candidates to ensure alignment with company values, culture, and job requirements.
  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from initial candidate contact to offer negotiation and onboarding.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and recruitment agencies to support hiring objectives.
  • Providing guidance, support and leadership to hiring managers on recruitment best practices, interview techniques, and talent assessment.
  • Analysing recruitment metrics and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation.
  • Staying current on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to inform recruitment strategies and decision-making.
  • Championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives throughout the recruitment process to ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Building developmental pipelines for the organisation such as apprenticeship programs.
  • Building partnerships with educational institutions such as schools, universities, TAFE etc.

About You:

As an ideal candidate you will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Talent Acquisition or recruitment role, preferably within the manufacturing or blue-collar environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related discipline (advantageous, but not essential)
  • Proven track record of successfully sourcing and recruiting candidates for a diverse range of positions.
  • Experience with international talent attraction and migration processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with candidates and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS, and other recruitment tools. Implementation of new HR systems advantageous.
  • High level communication skills and experience working effectively within a collaborative environment.
  • Able to develop highly effective working relationships by building credibility, respect and rapport with managers, supervisors and business leaders. Skilled at developing internal and external networks. 
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills. Able to effectively and creatively challenge people, situations and current thinking.
