Taxation Officer

This is a Pool process with permanent and/or fixed term, full time opportunities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Taxation Services Branch is accountable for the efficient and effective management of the taxation affairs of clients of the Public Trustee including the preparation and lodgement of taxation returns.

The Taxation Officer (L4) is responsible for assisting with the preparation of taxation returns with a simple to medium level of complexity using the electronic lodgement software and the Australian Taxation Office Online Service for Agents. The position liaises with the Australian Taxation Office on procedural/processing issues and assists with branch administrative matters.

Pool Recruitment

This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies at similar locations, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.
