Burdekin School is a small rural special school that supports students from Prep - Year 12. We are seeking a dedicated Teacher Aide with an interest in supporting our students to access education and for all aspects of personal care and health support needs. This role is offered on a permanent part-time basis at 0.12 FTE and 6 hours per fortnight.Our Teacher Aides work alongside our team of dedicated teachers to provide every student with educational access to all facets of school life, including; academic, communication, social, life skill, mobility/positioning, and personal care support.Experience is not required, but would be well regarded. A willingness to learn and a can do attitude is all that is required as all necessary training will be provided. - Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions.
- Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
- Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
- Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
- Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs.
- Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitively to students and their families.
- The compiling and supervising of class rolls.
