About Pine Rivers Special School
Pine Rivers Special School is a state school catering for students form Prep to Year 12 who have been verified as having a significant Intellectual Disability qualifying them for the highest level of support offered by Education Queensland. Many students also have a second disability area identified and verified, which adds to the complexity of their learning needs.
At Pine Rivers Special School all students are supported in their engagement with the Australian Curriculum, which is differentiated to a level commensurate with the child's cognitive ability and interest level. They also participate in a range of skills training programs, especially within areas such as Communication and Literacy development, Social Skills Training and the development of Positive Behaviours for Learning.
About the Role
As the Teacher Aide you will
- Contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities. (TA2)
- Contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting
teachers, students and parents with learning activities and administrative duties in a supportive school environment. (TA3) - Contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by providing high level support
for teaching and learning. The characteristics of a TAOO4 role include: specialised knowledge, limited direction, initiative and the application of judgement. (TA4)
The Teacher Aide reports to the Principal or nominated delegate as appropriate. The reporting relationship to teachers may be changed by the Principal on a regular basis to fulfil specific needs within the school. When supporting students with specific health procedures, a Teacher Aide will be under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse or medical practitioner.
