Pineview Community Kindergarten (CK) is seeking a dynamic and friendly Early Childhood Education Teacher to join their amazing team.

We are looking for a passionate and collaborative educator who is willing to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment. You will ideally be able to embrace and implement our whole school approaches and display confidence in utilising Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the classroom.

The successful applicant should have a strong knowledge of all key elements of curriculum and pedagogy as well as an ability to inspire students to develop a passion for learning in vibrant, engaging and supportive classrooms. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.

Pineview CK offers an alternative to government school-based kindergarten programs. We operate our kindergarten from a purpose-built building and playground designed to nurture children’s development in a caring community environment.

Pineview CK is strongly focussed on play-based and nature-based learning and the passionate teachers, AIEOs and education assistants are dedicated to helping the children develop their social skills and a love for life-long learning.

Focus is on the individual needs of 3 to 5 year-olds. Community Kindergartens are unique in which the staff and curriculum are provided by the Education Department and overseen by the Principal of a linked school. Each individual kindergarten, however, is run by a parent committee.

Parent committees ensure the centre is well resourced and able to provide a rich learning program and environment which caters for children’s individual needs.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

• provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
• consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
• obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
• complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
• complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
• complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
• complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
