  • ATAR Literature
  • General English

The successful applicant will ideally be able to display how they will provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential. In addition, the ability to engage students using a range of skills, knowledge of effective classroom management strategies and restorative practices will be considered favourably.

The ability and initiative to work well with your colleagues as part of a team to develop teaching strategies, resources and approaches to ensure each student can reach their maximum potential should be addressed in your application.

The successful applicant should have a growth mindset and be committed to the school’s Instructional Model which is based on practices that have a strong evidence base for their effectiveness. It is expected that all teachers will participate in the school’s Instructional Coaching program. Skills and knowledge in these areas will be an advantage.

At Como SC every student matters. As a school and as teachers we don’t give up on students, we constantly explore new ways to engage students who are not making progress. Instead, they are viewed as challenges to be overcome.

In summary, Como SC is looking for a teacher who believes that success and failure in student learning is about what they do or not do, who see their job as unlocking the potential of their students.
