Albany Senior High School (SHS) are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our dedicated and collaborative team.
The successful applicant will be able to inspire curiosity and a love of learning in their students, working collaboratively with colleagues to cultivate an inclusive and supportive environment where every student understands their learning journey and feels connected to our school community. They will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and display a commitment to personal growth and maximising student achievement through innovative teaching approaches.
The successful applicant will ideally possess the following:
- A love for teaching and a passion for education
- Qualifications in Secondary Education with a major/minor in English
- Experience in teaching English, Years 7 to 12
- Displayed delivery of effective teaching and learning programs fostering inclusivity and challenge
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and the broader school community

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
