Ryde Secondary College (Years 7-12) has an enrolment of 1470 students, including 70% students from an EAL/D background. It is a comprehensive high school with an academically selective cohort, an additional class for gifted and talented students, regular classes in each cohort and a support unit. The college has a strong focus on quality teaching, differentiated learning, Cultures of Thinking, collaborative teacher professional learning, student voice, social justice programs and a creative and positive learning environment. The college has extensive whole school, extracurricular, sporting and community partnership programs.
Selection Criteria1. Approval to teach English 7-12 with the capacity to teach English Advanced and English Extension 1 and 2.
2. Demonstrated experience in working individually and collaboratively to develop quality teaching and learning programs that are differentiated to engage and challenge all learners.
3. Demonstrated ability to implement effective assessment and feedback strategies to inform teaching practice and support student growth.
4. Demonstrated ability to contribute to faculty and whole school initiatives, and build powerful relationships with key stakeholders for learning.
ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
