AddressEmu Plains Public School is located at the foot of the Blue Mountains serving a well-established Western Sydney suburban community with several generations of families having attended the school.
The current enrolment is 400 students, with 18 classes, including 2 multi-categorical classes. 10% of students are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and 10% are from language backgrounds other than English. The Reconciliation Action plan is regularly reviewed in consultation with the AECG to best support students, community and cultural needs.
The school has a strong focus on quality teaching, differentiated Learning and collaborative practices, and creating a positive learning environment where every student is known, valued and cared for. Selection Criteria- Approval to teach students with Learning and Support needs (primary) and/or experience teaching students with Learning and Support needs (primary) in regular and/or support classes with demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum and implement individualised learning programs that are inclusive and maximise student engagement.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with classroom teachers to design, implement and evaluate differentiation practices for students with a wide range of additional learning needs, including individual and group evidence-based interventions to support student engagement, participation and wellbeing.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team, building positive, authentic relationships with students, staff, parents, external agencies and members of the wider community, supporting a culture of inclusivity.
- Well established understanding of school wellbeing programs, with a strong emphasis on trauma informed practices and use of evidence-based strategies to support student engagement, participation and wellbeing.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
