Ocean Reef Senior High School (SHS) is an experienced, innovative and passionate Home Economics Teacher to join their team.
The successful applicant will ideally display the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to deliver Home Economics to Year 12 level. The successful applicant will ideally have recent experience teaching both General courses and Certificate qualifications. Within the Home Economics area. Ocean Reef SHS delivers a broad scope of offerings including Food Science and Technology from Year 8 to Year 12, Child Development in Year 9 and Year 10 leading into Year 11 and Year 12 Children, Family & Community and Certificate III in Tourism. A newly introduced Textile's course is on offer to Year 9's in 2024 which will be built upon to open a textiles/fashion pathway in the future. It is desirable that applicants have a willingness to teach Year 7 and Year 8 Digital Technologies.
The successful applicant will ideally have effective interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including students, staff, and community members. You should engage in reflective practice and should be committed to whole-school pedagogical approaches. Effective classroom management, the ability to differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and promote an environment of active and positive learning are also a strong focus for the position.
The successful applicant will ideally support the implementation of the school business plan, be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives and have a strong evidenced based teaching approach. We are looking for a proactive and passionate Home Economics teacher who is able to teach across all year levels and work cohesively with the existing team.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
